Nick Gengler, 70, died Monday at his home at Elkton, S. D., after a long illness.
Mr. Gengler was born on a farm near Remsen January 2, 1886. He married Cecelia Arens there. August 22, 1911. They farmed near Oyens until 1928 when they moved to Elkton.
Survivors include the widow, five daughters, Mrs. Charles Hatlan of Oakland, California, Mrs. Robert Sleffan of Garfield, Minnesota. Mrs. Ray Johnson of Arcadia, California, Mrs. Robert McTag of Brookings, South Dakota. Lucille and Mary of Minneapolis; three sons, Milton of Le Mars, Arnold of South Shore, South Dakota, and Francis of Elkton: one brother, Peter of Oyens and three sisters: Mrs. Gcorge Lazendorf of Oyens. Mrs. Gerd Probst of Le Mars and Mrs. Frank Ludwig of Remsen.
Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. today(Tbursday) at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic church at Elkton. Burial was in Remsen at 1 p.m. today.
