RITES SET FRIDAY
John Peter Gengler, 78, lifetime Oyens resident, died at Sacred Heart hospital early Tuesday after a five day illness.

He was bom Dec. 7. 1888, near Oyens the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gengler. His marriage to Anna Gengler took place April 29. 1919, at Whittemore.

Mr. Gengler was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters;
Oyens Columbus club; VFW and Luxembourg Brotherhood of America. He was a World War I veteran.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine
Catholic church, Oyens with burial in St. Catherine cemetery
under direction of the Fisch funeral home, Remsen. Rev.
Gerald Wingert will officiate.

Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 and at 9
p.m. Thursday.

Survivors are a son, John. Le Mars; a daughter, Mrs. George
(Mary) Garber. Le Mars; eight grandchildren: and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Ludwig, Remsen; Mrs. John Arens, Oyens,
and Mrs. George Lanzenforf, Oyens.

He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1964 and by three brothers, one sister and one step-brother.
