Mrs. Petzing, Shumway, Dies
Altamont — Mrs. Alvina M. Petzing, 87, of Shumway, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, at Rollin Hills Nursing Home, Effingham, where she had been a patient for the past three months.
She was born March 23, 1879, in Effingham county, the daughter of Frank and Christina Metzler Hoese.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Lillian Healy, Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Martha Engel, Springfield; Mrs. Esther Berg, Ludlow; sons, Harold of Beecher City; Raymond, Effingham; Dale of Bradley; and 13 grandchildren.
she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1961, and five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran church, Shumway. The body will be taken to the church at noon Wednesday. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bauer funeral home, Effingham.
