CHARLES REQUIST RITES SATURDAY
Funeral services will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak Saturday, March 16, for Charles A. Request, 75, who passed away in Murphy Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, March 13. He had been ill for three months.
The Sellergren Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and Rev. Raynold Lindwall will officiate, assisted by Rev. A. Leonard Smith. Bearers will be A. J. Anderson, Gust Eckdahl, Otto Larson, Carl Barr, John Lindstedt, and Liew Dilley. Music will be by Mrs. C. V Bergren, Miss Florence Newberg, and D. E. Gustafson with Mrs. Clarence Fridolph at the organ. The floral committee will be Mrs. John Lindstedt, Miss Emma Andersson, Mrs. Otto Larson, Mrs. Carl Barr, Miss Mary Hoagland, and Miss Ida Hoglund. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa.
Charles A. Requist, son of Anderson Request and Hedda Gustafsdotter was born January 12, 1871 in Keokuk, Iowa He came to Montgomery County the age of 10 and had lived on the same farm, near Stanton for 45 years. He moved to Red Oak in 1940.
Mr. Requist passed away on his 51st Wedding Anniversary. He was married to Eugenia Johnson at Omaha, March 13, 1895. She died in 1945.
Survivors include two sons, Ivan of Stanton and Dale of Red Oak; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Bergren of Stanton and Mrs. Walter Anderson, also of Stanton; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Two sisters and two brothers survive. They are Mrs. Anna Lundgren of Stanton, Mrs. Hilda Malmquist, Stanton, August Requist, Stanton and Oscar Requist, Goodring, Idaho.
