Ivan Carl Andrew Requist was born May 25, 1897 in Montgomery County, Iowa to Charles A. Requist and Charlotte Eugenia Johnson. He died suddenly at the Good Samaritan Center, Red Oak, Iowa on March 9, 1992 at the age of 94 years, 9 months, 12 days. Edward C. Pillar, M.D.
He was born, reared, and lived most of his life on a farm between Red Oak and Stanton, Iowa. He moved into Red Oak in 1991. He was united in marriage to Darleen Gourley on September 21, 1921 at Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa. He served his coutry during WWI in the United States Army. He was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church of Stanton, Iowa, and the American Legion Lorraine Post #67 of Red Oak, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Darleen Requist of Red Oak, Iowa; a son, Marvin and his wife Barbara Requist of Red Oak, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Verna Heuer of Red Oak, Iowa, and Dorothy and her husband James Holmerg of Afton, Minnesota, a sister, Eunice Bergren of Stanton, Iowa; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. also by other relatives and many friends.
