OBSEQUIES OF ANDERS REQUIST HELD AT THE HOME OF HIS SON AND IN THE LUTHERAN CHURCH
The funeral services of Anders Requist, who passed away November 29, 1921 in Earlham, Iowa, was held Friday afternoon in the home of his son, August Requist, southwest of Stanton, at 1:30 o'clock and in the Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. O. A. Elmquist was in charge and delivered the funeral address. Interment was in Mamrelund Cemetery. The pall bearers were Ivan Dale and Morris requist, Einer Malmquist, Walter Anderson, and Lawrence Bergren, all grandsons of the deceased except the last two who have married his daughters.
Anders Requist was born in Rinna Socken, Ostergotland, Sweden, October 5, 1840. Died at his home near Earlham, Iowa, November 29, 1921., aged 81 years, 1 months, and 24 days. he came to American in 1868, settling first at Keokuk, where she was married to Hedda Ulrika Gustafson on September 17, 1869. After SEVERAL years residence there they moved to Swedona, Illinois and in 1882, they moved to this community. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom died in childhood. those living are Chas. August, Oscar (Gooding, Idaho), Mrs. Carl Malmquist and Mrs. Henry Lundgren; two brothers and a sister in Sweden survive and also a half brother, C. A. Rydquist of Stanton and a half sister, Mrs. Ed Thrasher, who lives in Oklahoma.
