Lorella M. Salazar, age 77, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, November 30, 2002. Lorella was born February 7, 1925 to Tomas O. Montoya and Frances DeLao Montoya. Lorella is the last of the Montoya political dynasty -- Her brothers, Tom Montoya, State Representative Teddy Montoya, State Representative Alfonso Montoya, United States Senator Joseph M. Montoya; her sisters, Agneda Montoya and Virginia Chavez all preceded her in death.

Lorella loved life and life loved Lorella. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lorella is survived by her son, Tom J. Salazar and his wife, Gail Salazar; her brother-in-law, Tony Chavez; her nephews, Patrick Montoya, Phil Montoya, Joe M. Montoya and Teo Montoya; her nieces, Alicia Montoya and Lynda Montoya-Haran.

Rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 3, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo with Fr. Virgil officiating. Pallbearers will be Patrick Montoya, Phil Montoya, Michael Carroll, Steve Del Valle, Victor Castillo and Phillip Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lou Avolio, Paul Del Valle, Bill Elliott and Tony Gabaldon.
