Peder Olsen Olsgaard immigrated to the Minnesota/North Dakota area with his brother Jens Olsgaard, leaving Oslo on a Steamship in May 1892 for Montreal. Peder was 20 years old. He received his Naturalization papers December 1903. Their parents were Ole Pederson Olsgaard, 11-14-1842 to 10-30-1905 and Eleanore Helene Marie Philipine Kjerulf, 2-1-1841 to 6-4-1925. Peder farmed outside of Rustad, MN and also had a house in Moorhead, MN. Together with his wife, Sina, they had 5 children: Esther, Orris, Verna, Marvin and an infant girl, Sina, who died at childbirth. Verna survives and is doing well at age 97 in 2012.
