Services for Darleen Vina Requist, 91, Red Oak, will be Wednesday, April 21, at 2 p.m at Sellergren-Lindell Funeral Home in Red Oak. The Rev. Eric Kutzli officiates and burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Family visitation is tonight from 7-8 at the funeral home. She died Sunday, April 18, 1993, at the Red Oak Good Samaritan Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Requist was born November 18, 1901, at Villisca to Lon and Mattie (Thompson) Gourley, attended country school in Villisca area and married Ivan C. Request at Villisca on September 21, 1921. The couple farmed in the Stanton area until moving to Red Oak in December 1990.She had been a resident of Red Oak Good Samaritan Center since October 31, 1991. She was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton. Memorials are suggested to the church or Red Oak Rescue Unit.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Request of Red Oak; two daughters, Verna Heuer of Red Oak and Dorothy Holmberg of Afton, Minnesota; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Delta Lindell of Shenandoah.
