SAMUEL THEODORE PATTERSON

Samuel Theodore Patterson was born January 31, 1867, in Boone County. He passed away at the Faith, South Dakota Hospital on December 11, 1927, at the age of 60 years, ten months.

Deceased lived in the Stratford locality until 1900 when he moved from his farm in Boone County into Stratford, where he was engaged in various business enterprises until 1906. He then moved to the Black Hills district of South Dakota where he has made his home for the last twenty-one years.

A letter received from his friends here expressed their sorrow in these words: "We feel that we have lost our best friend and neighbor."

He leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, Albert and Ed, both of this community, and five nephews and as many nieces and a great number of friends.

Although it has been a good many years since the deceased lived here, he will be remembered by many people here as a man who was always pleasant and kindly and his friends here keenly feel his passing.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the South Marion Methodist Church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. K.A. Stromberg. A large number of friends went to pay their respects to a departed friend. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery.
