Isabel married Julius H. Vennigerholz Dec. 14, 1871 in Macon county, Illinois.

Mrs. Isabelle P. Vennigerholz, one of Decatur's best-loved women, died suddenly Tuesday in the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. C.C. LeForgee with whom she made her home. She was 83 on her last birthday in October.

Saturday she was unwell but neither she nor members of her family regarded the illness as serious. Sunday she was cheerful as always enjoying her association with the family and guests. Dr. Will Chenoweth saw her and he raised her from her pillow, she coughed once and she died.

She was a daughter of Jasper Peddecord and Ophelia Oglesby Peddecord. His home on Franklin street is in the fashionable residence and was a beautiful house with it being the center of social life. She was a niece to Governor Richard Oglesby and she was a frequent hostess in the Oglesby home.

After the Civil war most of the nation's great men of that time visited the home. Among them were Logan, Grant, Bob Ingersoil, Joseph G. Cannon were some of the famous people.

She had attended the school in St. Mary's of the Woods enjoying an exceptional education for her age. She was a great beauty and was always the center of attention at these functions. She was very adventurous and she had a lively interest in youth delighting to attend the parties of young people to visit them in their homes until a few days before her death. She was a devoted member of St. John's church, Episcopal.

Her husband was J. H. Vennigerholz who came to Decatur from Louisville, engaged in business and was a popular young man. A few years after their marriage they moved to Louisville where they remained for a time and where her husband died more than 40 years ago. She returned to Decatur after his death and made her home in the old Peddecord mansion until the marriage of her daughter and only child to C. C.LeForgee.

Besides her daughter she leaves two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
