Mrs. Valette P. Brandau died at 6:30 Thursday evening at her home on N.Franklin street. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases and was rather unexpected as her condition had been considered serious only since last Tuesday. She had not been in good health for some time but up to Tuesday it was thought that she would get well.
She was born in Decatur. She was the youngest daughter of the late J. J. Peddecord and wife. She is survived by two sisters,Mrs. Isabel Vennigerholz of Decatur and Mrs.Emma Rurode of Fort Wayne Ind.
Mrs. Rurode was notified by telegraph of the death of Mrs. Brandau and will be here to attend the funeral.
The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.

The funeral of Mrs. Valette Peddecord Brandau was held at 3 oclock Sunday afternoon from the residence on N.Franklin street. Rev. N. B. Atcheson,rector of St. Johns Episcopal church, conducted the services. the attendance was large and there were many beautiful floral tributes.
Those here from a distance to attend the funeral were Mrs.Emma Gillette Oglesby, Miss Felicite Oglesby and Jasper E. Oglesby of Elkart, Colonel John D. G. Oglesby of Springfield, Mrs.Olive Oglesby Snyder of Kansas city and Mr.AndMrs.E.C.Rurode and two daughters of Fort Wayne,Ind. Mrs. Brandau was a sister of Mrs.Rurode.
