Walter D. "Beaney" WAECHTER, 76, Akron, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Plymouth Parkview Hospital, where he was a patient for two weeks. He was born Sept. 1, 1904 in Akron to Cornelius and Opal SHOWALTER WAECHTER and was a lifetime resident of Akron. He was married in 1933 to Grace FITES, who survives. He was a barber in Akron for 50 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Akron Masonic Lodge and attended the Akron United Methodist Church. Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Barbara) RAGER, Plymouth; a granddaughter; four sisters, Thelma BARNETT, Akron; Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) MILLER, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Jane LANTZ, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Tony (Laura) MINELLI, Elkhart; two brothers, Telford [WAECHTER], North Manchester, and Max [WAECHTER], Elkhart; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Haupert Funeral Home at Akron with the Revs. Frank CRAMER and Harold LEININGER officiating. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday. Masonic services will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
