Son of explorer Dr. Thomas Walker and Mildred (Thorton) Meriwether, Walker. Born at family estate CastleHill,VA. Brother of 11.(3 stillbirths).2nd husband of Mary (Randolph) Lewis. After marriage they went down to oversee family properties in VA, N. and S. Carolinas where they had 14 children (3 died at birth). Sarah (Nance) b. 1781; US Sen.
