Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Norfolk for Frances McGee, mother of the former US Sen. Gale McGee of Wyoming.
Age 96, she died Saturday at a Norfolk nursing home.
The Rev. Loyd Bliss will officiate with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Monday at Johnson Stonacek Funeral Chapel at Norfolk.
Survivors include three sons, Max of Hastings, Gale of Bethesda, Md., and Dr. Dean of Sun City, Ariz., nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
The former Frances McCoy was born at Silver City, Iowa, in 1888. After graduating from high school at Malvern, Iowa. In 1906, she operated a millinery shop in Silver City for a short time and then moved to Lincoln, where she was in charge of the millinery department of the former Rudge and Guenzel's Department Store.
On Dec 16, 1913, she married G. W. McGee at Lincoln. Her husband was employed at Norfolk by Henkel and Joyce Hardware and later worked for 35 years at the Dodge Auto Garage.
Mrs. McGee operated an apartment house in Norfolk and then had a team room in a large home at 12th St and Phillip Ave. This was transformed into a girls' dormitory for Norfolk Junior College students during World War II.
Mrs. McGee was a lifelong Methodist and belonged to various social groups.
