Surviving are one son, Joseph Westerdale, and one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Georgeanne) Nelson; one brother, George McHugh, and one sister, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Milroy; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mary was a well-known waitress at the Quad-Cities' more elite restaurants, including The Plantation, Marando's, Harold's, Ben's Gourmet and The Factory, from 1947 to the 1980s. She and her late husband also operated Dhooge's Tap in Coal Valley.
She was a member of Senior Friends and St. Charles Catholic Church, Port Charlotte.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Milroy, and brother, George McHugh, both of Wyoming, Ill.; a son, Joseph Sue Westerdale, and daughter, Georgann Charles E. Nelson, all of Port Charlotte; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
