Son of Senator Cornelius Cole, he served as the postmaster for Colegrove, an area now known as Hollywood as well as running a local store. Cole was a member of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce when they were in the process of determining whether or not to erect the Hollywood Dam that is now located near the Cahuenga Pass, between Hollywood and Universal City.
