In 1904 she, together with her son, came to America to join her husband who had at this time established a home east of Hazel Run.
In 1921 a desire to again visit her homeland, and to possibly make it their home, she with her husband and daughter went back to Sweden, but returned again to America in 1923, bringing with them her sister's son Edwin, it being her sister's last wish that she should bring him up, which promise was faithfully fulfilled.
Upon returning to America, they bought a tract of land west of Hazel Run, where a nice home was built, which was very dear to her and much enjoyed until sickness set in, in the summer of 1933.
She suffered more than was realized at times. The last Sunday she lived, was spent with childhood friends living near Hanley Falls. On Monday night she was stricken with a severe heart attack and early Tuesday morning, August 21st, the pains left her and she peacefully slept away. She reached the age of 60 years, two months and nine days.
Dearest Mother, she has left us,
Left us, yes, forever more;
But we hope to meet our loved one
On that bright and happy shore.
Lonely the house and sad the hours
Since our dear one has gone;
But Oh! a brighter home than ours
In heaven is now her own.
