Henry Bernard 1901 - 2008 N. Grosvenordale, CT -Henry Bernard, 106, formerly of Main St, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Westview Healthcare Center. He was the loving husband for 65 years of the late Lillian (Raymond) Bernard. Born in N. Grosvenordale, CT, he was the son of the late Ludger and Arzelie (Lajoie) Bernard. Mr. Bernard worked in textile manufacturing most of his life and for Choiniere Dairy for 16 years delivering milk. He was a member of the St. Joseph Parish and the American Legion. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was an avid Red Sox and Boston Braves fan. He enjoyed his dogs, playing horseshoes, camping and spending time with his family. Henry is survived by his daughter, Doris Graham of Fabyan; his grandchildren, Robert Graham of Dublin, Ireland; Bernard Graham, Karen Graham-Hardell, Rae DesLauriers all of North Grosvenordale; Joan Bernard of Boston, MA, Donna Wojciechowski of Webster, MA, Janice Montgomery of New Hampshire and William Bernard of Baltimore, MD; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren and his extended family, Denise & Tom McGee and their family of Oxford, MA. He was predeceased by his companion, Shirley Dean; his son, Normand Bernard and his eight brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Henry's family on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at 10:00 am in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St, N. Grosvenordale, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St. N. Grosvenordale. Burial with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church.
