Mrs. Josephine Mahon died suddenly at her home on Cady Street Thursday July 29. She had been in ailing health for some time. But her death was unexpected and came as a great shock to her friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Mahon was born in Poland on December 1, 1881 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Terijack. She was the widow of John Mahon. Her survivors include two sons, James Mahon of Danielson and Edmund Mahon of North Grosvenordale; two daughters, Mrs. Victoria Dalip of Grosvenordale and Mrs. Celia Gallien of Oxford, Mass; a brother, Anthony of Poland; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Sumanski and Mrs. Antoni Evanski of Webster, Mass.
The funeral was held from the Gagnon Funeral Home at 8 o'clock Saturday morning to St. James Church at 9. Rev William Riddle, M. S. was celebrant of the high mass of requiem. At the offertory, Mrs. Nora Lagace sang "Misere Mini Mel" accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Gareau, organist, who played Handel's Funeral March at the recessional. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster, Mass. Those serving as bearers were; William and Joseph Strzelewicz, Edward Howland, Anthony Terjiack, Frank Cunha and John Bagdonis.
