Lena Berger, 85, Dies Here Today
Miss Lean Berger, 85, who had been making her home the past two months with her niece, Mrs. Harry Neal, 1229 Randolph, died early this morning at Cushing Memorial Hospital.
Miss Berger had been in failing health the past eight months and had been critical since entering the hospital Dec. 9, 1963.
Miss Berger was born March 24, 1878, at Jarbalo, a daughter of Henry and Minnie Papenhausen Berger. Miss Berger had lived in Leavenworth 14 years. She was a member of the Jarbalo Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Albert Berger, 1116 Cherokee, and several nephews and nieces, including Mrs. Hazel Hamilton, 1301 Cherokee.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Walter Jones, pastor of the Jarbalo Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Fall Creek Cemetery, Jarbalo. The body is at the chapel.
