In Memoriam.

Miss Caroline Elizabeth Bachelder died at the residence of her nephew, Mr. W. B. Wood, in LaFayette, on Tuesday afternoon, the 15th instant. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. M. Glenn at the residence of Mr. Wood, Wednesday afternoon, and the interment was at the city cemetery.
Miss Bachelder was born in Georgia, coming to LaFayette with her parents in her early childhood. She was the eldest of a family of ten sisters and one brother, all of whom save two sisters have passed away. She spent some years in Washington City, but the greater part of her life was in LaFayette. She was born in the early part of the 19th century, and was an intelligent observer of many of the stirring scenes and epochal events growing into the history of the past seventy-five years. She was a woman of fine intellect and wide reading, of noble instincts and cheerful disposition, considerate, cordial, gracious and kind. She was a life-long and consistent member of the Methodist Church. She rests in peace.
