Mrs. Grace Young Grills, 101, of Verda, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at her home. She was born in Jellico, Tennessee but had lived here all of her life. She was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith.

Grace was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Woodard; her second husband, John Grills; her mother, Mary Mosier Young; her father, Gordon Young; four children, Helen Dawn Osborne, Kathleen "Kack" Barton, Evelyn "Ween" Akemon, Finley Grills; three sisters, Edna Bosch, Helen Wardrup, Lottie Young Perkins Hembree; and five brothers, Harry, Roy, Jeff, Charlie and Fred Young.

Survivors include fifteen grandchildren: Billy Akemon, Doris Bowers, Mike Akemon, James Akemon, Linda Akemon, Brenda Spicer, Ricky Barton, Kathy Barton Callahan, Diane Kelly, Johnny Osborne, Mark Osborne, Kathy Burgess, Lora Ward, Terry Osborne and Tony Osborne; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a special niece that helped care for her, Ruby Blevins, Kenvir; a special Hospice aide, Wanda Farmer; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Her visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McCreary, Rev. Joe Howard and Rev. Mark Osborne officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
