Mary married Daniel STIMSON in 1875. Mary was Daniel's third wife. They had two daughters, Nora and Fannie. Active in the Methodist Church, the Stimsons helped establish the Bear Creek Church near their homestead. In 1888, the family moved to the nearby town of Nevada, where they helped organize the First Methodist Church. The Stimsons sent their daughters to private schools, but also played a part in the construction of the town's first public school building. When Daniel and Mary Stimson died, their homeplace was divided between the daughters. The western half of the Danniel Stimson homesite has remained in the family and has been continually farmed by his descendants for more than a century.
