Daughter of Ransome Judson and Virginia Allen Williams, wife of William Deal Anderson.

MYRTLE BEACH - Mrs. Virginia Williams Anderson, 92, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at her home. Virginia was born December 9, 1917, in Mullins, SC, a daughter of the late (former) Gov. and Mrs. Ransome J. Williams. She was the widow of William D. Anderson Jr. and was predeceased by her sister, Nancy R. Wilson of Lake City.

She was a graduate of Coker College and taught high school in Springfield and Lake City, SC. She was a charter member and first woman deacon of Ocean View Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir, Women's Missions Union, and taught the Adult Ladies' Sunday School Class for many years.

Survivors include her two sons, William D. Anderson III (Bonnie) of Wadmalaw Island, SC, and Col. Ransome W. Anderson (Ret.) of Myrtle Beach; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Ocean View Baptist Church with Dr. Steven Cromer and Dr. J. Kirk Lawton Jr. officiating.
