Mrs. Wright and her twin sister, Mrs. Julia Nugent, have for several years been termed the oldest set of twins in the nation. Mrs. Wright was a lifelong resident of Winnfield and her sister, who is presently recovering fro a broken hip, broken wrist, and bruises incurred in the fall, is a resident of Mansfield.
The twins, who were identical, were born on July 16, 1862, during the Civil War. They were sisters of the late Huey P. Long, Sr., father of the late Gov. and Senator Huey P. Long, Jr., the late Rep. George S. Long, and of the present Governor Earl K. Long, and of Julian Long, a Shreveport attorney.
Mrs. Wright, the younger of the twins by just a few minutes, had lived in the same spacious home here which she had occupied since 1900. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are living.
Mrs. Nugent is the mother of nine children, five of whom are still living.
The Louisiana twins were several months older than the second oldest twins, two men in Texas. Mrs. Nugent is now the last surviving member of a family of 14 children.
Mrs. Wright always took an active interest in civic life and politics although she never entered public life herself. Relatives described her as "very alert" up to the time of her death.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. W. L. Holcomb and the Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers were Lloyd Key, Robert Heard, Shirley Jackson, Jesse Corley, Dalton Martin, and Judge Harwell Allen.
Honorary pallbearers were P. K. Abel, A. L. Allen, Dr. John T. Mosley, Troy Smith, Jr., Judge Cas Moss, Matt Milam, Sr., Bryant Sholars, W. E. Heard, Harley Bozeman, W. O. Averett, W. T. Norman, A. P. Burton, Walter Allen, and Mack L. Branch.
Besides her sister, Mrs. Wright is survived by one son, James F. Wright of Little Rock, Ark.; three daughters, Annette W. Grigsby and Mrs. E. G. Ezell, of Winnfield, and Mrs. F. W. Keefe of California; ten grandchildren, and 13
