Speaking for Herself: The Autobiographical Writings of Anna K. Juhnke. This 150-page, paperback was put together by Anna's daughter, Joanne (Oakleaf), and husband, retird professor James C. Juhnke. Anna Kreider Juhnke passed away June 17, 2005, age 65, after a 23-year-long "journey" (her word) with renal cell carcinoma.
The book contains detailed memories of her childhood in North Newton, Kan., high school years in Wadsworth, Ohio, teaching years at Bethel College (with short times in China and Africa), as well as her work on General Conference Mennonite Church boards and committees. It also contains four original poems, a sermon, several meditative reflections and some readings from her memorial service.
