Ruth married George Aylesworth on 19 November 1915 at Philadelphia, PA. They were the parents of seven children were born, Robert, Richard, Janet, Virginia, Marlon, Eleanor, and Wilhelmena.

July 1, 1926 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Beneath a beautiful tree near the grave of her baby, little Wilhelmena, Mrs. George Aylesworth lies peacefully sleeping in quiet Lake View cemetery. The body of the woman who also suddenly called away Tuesday night of last week was laid to rest by loving hands Friday afternoon, after one of the most impressive services ever held in Storm Lake.

The service at the church began with the singing of an old hymn by the vested choir of which Prof. Ayleswortb is director. Mr. Evert Leon Jones, president of Buena Vista college, spoke briefly of the relations of the fatuity members and Mrs. Aylesworth. Rev. George Wareham then preached a very helpful sermon after which the Storm Lake band, directed by William Julius of Pomeroy played a beautiful serenade. The girls of the Delta Phi Beta sorority of the college of which Mrs. Aylesworth was patroness attended the funeral in a body. Members of the old Buena Vista college quartet who sang with Prof. Aylesworth were also present. They were Kussell Anderson of Arnolds Park; Elmer Nelson of Royal, and Frank Shaw of Odebolt.

Ruth Power Aylesworth was born at Mount Vernon, Iowa in 1890. She graduated from Mount Vernon high school and later from Cornell college. She taught public school music at Britt and later taught music at Westchester, Pa., where she was organist of Westminster church. She did some class work and private teaching in the normal school at that place.

She and Prof. Aylesworth were married at Philadelphia in November, 1915. To this union seven children were born, Robert, Richard, Janet, Virginia, Marlon, Eleanor, and Wilhelmena. The latter preceding Mrs. Aylesworth in death by a few hours.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Power, of Mount Vernon, parents of Mrs. Aylesworth; Wilbur G. Power, of Fairhope, Ala., a brother; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Owen, of Oak Park, Illinois, uncle and aunt; Miss Victoria Aylesworth, of Aurelia, Miss Mercy Aylesworth of Iowa City, and Mrs. W.G. Whitney of Independence, sisters of Mr. Aylesworth; Perry Aylesworth of Eldora, brother of Mr. Aylesworth.

Miss Victoria Aylesworth will remain in Storm Lake until the end of July. Miss Mercy Aylesworth, who is at summer school at Iowa City, will then come for the remainder of the summer.
