Jeffery Boyd Ackerman, 45, of Pleasant Grove passed away Friday, February 27, 2009. Jeff was born May 22, 1963 in Provo, Utah to Boyd and Carol Simmons Ackerman. He married Marsha Farrer and together had two children, Jacey and Shaylee. They were later divorced. Jeff grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1981. He spent much of his adult life living in St. George where he learned the trades of plumbing and operating heavy equipment. He was a firm believer in the old adage of “an honest days work for an honest days wage” which was taught to him by his father. He was always willing to help family, friends, and even complete strangers in their time of need. Jeff loved his time living in St. George and developed many close relationships with friends and co-workers. Jeff enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He had a special love for children; especially his two beautiful girls which is what Jeff lived for.

He is survived by his two daughters: Jacey and Shaylee, both of St. George; parents: Boyd and Carol Ackerman, Pleasant Grove; siblings: Kent (LuAnn) Ackerman, Pleasant Grove; Suzanne (Jesse) Louder, Lehi; Annette (Jeff) Wilson, Pleasant Grove; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ackerman, Eagle Mountain and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Ackerman

He was a victim of murder.
