Mrs. Mary Jane Goodell, mother of Mrs. James B. Grant, Mrs. John C. Mitchell, and Mrs. James D. Whitmore of Denver, Mrs. A. A. Blow of New York City, and Roswell Eaton Goodell of Utah, died at her home, No. 1253 Clarkson Street yesterday at noon, without the knowledge that her son-in-law, former Governor Grant had died. She had been ill for some time, but her condition had not been considered serious until a few weeks ago. A complication of diseases caused her death.
She came to Colorado from Chicago in 1879 and had lived in Denver since 1880. She was 78 years old.
The funeral will be from the residence of Mrs. James B. Grant, 770 Pennsylvania Street, Wednesday noon. Immediately after the funeral services of Governor Grant are over, the remains of Mrs. Goodell will be taken to the Grant home and will lie there until Wednesday. Mrs. A. A. Blow will arrive in Denver on Tuesday from New York. Mrs. Goodell will be interred at Fairmount, in the vault beside that of Governor Grant.

from the Grant home at noon today. Interment will be made in Fairmount cemetery. The pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mrs. Goodell. They are James B. Grant, Jr., James D. Whitmore, Jr., Hugh Van Wagenen, Henry Van Schaack, Ellsworth Wood, Lawrence Wood, James Grant and William Grant. The funeral will be private.
