John was the son of Michael Faubel and Nancy McMahon. He was married to Margaret Wilhelm in 1827. They were the parents of 4 children. He later married Margaret Timms in 1838. They were the parents of 11 children; Susan, Michael, Elizabeth, John, Carla, Samuel, William, Adelbert, Isaac, James and Albert.
