Funeral of Mrs. Upjohn Held This Afternoon
A large concourse of sorrowing friends assembled Oils afternoon to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. Carrie Barnes Upjohn, which was held at 1:30 o'clock from the home, 215 Stuart avenue. Rev, John Wirt Dunning, D. D. preached the funeral sermon in which he spoke of the active life of the woman who had endeared herself to everyone who knew her. Mrs. Bertha Shears Davis, accompanied by Glenn Henderson, sang several hymns which Mrs. Upjohn loved. Interment was in Mountain Home cemetery. The bearers were A. H. Connable, C. S. Campbell, F. L. Chappell, Charles H. Little, G. I. Shipman and Dr. L. H. S. DeWitt. A wealth of beautiful floral offerings attested the great esteem in which Mrs. Upjohn was held by a wide circle of friends.
