Edward and Mary got married in 1846.
The following was given to me from ET:
Edward began capturing and studying birds as a teenager. His scientific interest prompted an 1824 introduction to John James Audubon, of whom Edward became a good friend and a financial supporter. Audubon recognized Edward’s passion for birds of prey and honored him by naming the Harris’s Hawk, and two other birds, after him.
The following obituary for Edward was published in the Philadelphia Inquirer on June 9, 1863.
HARRIS -- On the 8th inst., at his residence in Moorestown, N. J., Edward Harris, in the 64th year of his age.
His friends and those of the family, are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, on Friday, the 12th inst., at 2 o'clock, without further notice.
