He was a retired dairy farmer. Mr. Scott was a graduate of NC State University. He was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, where he served as a Lt. in the 82nd Airborne.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Dorothy Smith Scott of the home; daughters, Mrs. Jane (Bob) Peters and Mrs. Libby (Woody) Isaac and Mrs. Sarah (Clinton) Bradley, all of Mebane, and Mrs. Anne Scott of Burlington; sons, Mr. Steven (Linda) Scott, Mr. Edwin (Terry) Scott and Mr. Walter Scott, all of Mebane; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Fuller of Greensboro; and a brother, Mr. H.A. Scott of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by a son, Paisley White Scott Jr. and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Graham Holleman.
