College) who served in the Arkansas Legislature, was editor of the Hot Springs Telegraph, president of the Hot Springs Valley Bank and served in the Civil War (CSA). He married Hebe Frances Gower (1849-1931), and five children were William Gower (1871-83), Grace Greenwood (1873-1948), Henry Massey, III (1875-1955), Ernestine (1876-), and Hebe Leveson Rector (1882-1938).

Grace Greenwood Rector (1873-1948) married William Reuben Fry (1870-1940) and lived in Ventura, Ca. A daughter, Hebe Gower Fry (1903-89), married 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Walter Garrett Riddick (1883-1953), and two children were Walter Garrett, Jr. (1926-2010); and Dr. Hebe Riddick (1930-2014)(Randolph Macon 1951)(UArk. M.A. 1970, PhD 1978) who was an associate professor at Stephen F. Austin University, 1981-98, and author of several works. The latter married (1) Maurice Zach Bair, Jr. (1924-99), and (2) Kenneth Mace. A son was Maurice Zach Bair III. Attorney Walter Garrett Riddick, Jr. (1926-2010) (W&L 1949, Law 1952) served in WWII and Korean War and married (1) Marguerite Rice (1928-70), and (2) Joanne Hamilton. A son, attorney Walter Garrett Riddick III, married Jessica, and their children were Elizabeth, Walter Garrett, IV, and Donovan Riddick.

Henry Massey Rector III (1875-1955) was an attorney in Little Rock. He married Nancy Mooney (1877-1950). Their sons were Henry Massey, IV (1902-55), James Gower (1910-53), and William F. Rector (c1912-). Henry Massey Rector, IV (1902-55) was an attorney but did not practice law. He resided in Little Rock and married (1) Mary Elizabeth Throgmorton (1908-39), and (2) in 1942, Beatrice Elizabeth Matthews (1916-2002). Their five children were Robert D. (1929-81); Henry Massey, V. (1931-2018); Rosemary; John Patrick (1939-2013)(Little Rock c1961) who married Janet and two daughters were Amy who married a Wiley, and Stephanie Rector; and Jane Rector (1947-2008).

Hebe Leveson Rector (1882-1938) married a cousin Walter William Land (1883-1964), probably the son of Walter J. (1852-) and Mary C. Matheny Land (c1862-), of Baxter Springs, Kan. A daughter was Elizabeth Land (1908-).
