DR. CHARLES H BRUCKER, 79, HAD PRACTICED IN CITY SINCE 1871
Pioneer Doctor was Leader in Field; Funeral Set for Saturday
Dr. Charles H. Brucker, 79, one of Lansing's oldest practicing physicians, died at the home, 507 West St. Joseph Friday morning. He had been ill for some time.
Dr. Brucker was born in Detroit in 1849. Following his grraduation from the medical department of the University of Michigan he practiced at South Lyons for five years. He began his practice in Lansing in 1873 and had been considered one of Lansing's leading physicians since that time.
Back in the nineties, Dr. Brucker was city physician and health officer for eight years when thar office was a one-man position. He also served as president of the Ingham County Medical Society. He was a member of Central Methodist Church and Capital Lodge No. 66, F and AM.
Besides the widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Brucker, he is survived by one son, Dr. Karl Brucker, Lansing, three sisters. Mrs. William L. January of Detroit, Mrs. Louesa McNally of Burt, Michigan, Mrs. Lever of Los Angeles, California, one brother, Judge Lewis Brucker of Mansfield, Ohio, and several nephews and nieces.
