Edwin "Eddie" Johnson, 78, Rockford, died Wed., Aug. 24, 1994, in Park Strathmoor Nursing Center. Born Dec. 28, 1915, in Rockford, the son of Birger and Augusta Anderson Johnson. Married Bernice L. Meyers on May 29, 1941, in Belvidere. Employed as machine operator in furniture factories; service technician for textile machines at Barber-Colman Co.; service engineer for woodworking machines at Ekstrom Carlson Co.; and retired in 1980 from Mattison Machine Works after 24 years of employment. Member of First Lutheran Church since 1947, John Ericsson Lodge 23 IOS, Vasa Lodge 245, Svithiod Club and life member of Masonic Lodge 102. He enjoyed music and playing the piano.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; brother, Roy S. (Mary) Johnson; many cousins in Sweden. Predeceased by parents.
