The burial place of Israel Baird is unknown today. As stated above, he was first buried in the Presbyterian Church graveyard. One source says he and his wife Mary were moved to the Abraham Reynolds family cemetery at Bent Creek, Buncombe County when the graveyard was decommissioned. In the mid-1980's, his gravestone was still resting under the church along with the stones of others including his wife Mary Ann Tate Baird. Currently, both stones are still at the church in a restricted area.
