DIED.
GILLETT- In Eureka, April 22, 1896, Adelaide M., wife of James N. Gillett Esq., a native of Amsterdam, N. Y., aged 32 years and 6 months. Funeral notice later.
Gone to Rest
Mrs. Adelaide M., wife of James N, Gillett, Esq., passed away at her home in this city about 10 o'clock last night. Deceased had been afflicted with a malignant tumor, and recently went to San Francisco, where an operation was performed, which at the time was supposed to be successful. She returned with apparently a new lease of life, but about a month ago the disease asserted itself again with a cropsical(sic) accompaniment, which resisted the skill of the physicians, and after several weeks of suffering death released her. Mrs. Gillett was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pratt, formerly of Scotia, but now of Oakland. She was a native of Amsterdam, New York, aged about 32 years, and leaves a husband and three children, the youngest about 4 years of age. The parents of deceased will arrive on the Pomona to-morrow morning.
