Daughter of Thomas and Mary W. "Polly" Anderson Meriwether. Married John Leonard Yates on 21 DEC 1831 in Washington County, Kentucky.
Colony Cullings.
Mrs. Yates an old lady of this place, passed away on the morning of the ninth after an illness of only twenty four hours. Her remains were taken to the church on Sunday following, and after a few appropriate remarks by G. W. Wilkinson were consigned to their last resting place in Colony cemetery. Aunt Patsy as everyone called her was in her eightieth year, but although the frosts of many winters had silvered the hair and wrinkled the brow that was once so fair to look upon she still retained her mental faculties and cheerful disposition to the last. Deceased was a sister of James Meriwether of this place who is now in his eighty-fourth year. --- CALEB
