Alexander Taylor Mitchell (Sept. 5, 1865-July 18, 1905), [Jefferson] Davis' grandnephew, was one of six sons of Charles Jouett Mitchell and his second wife, Lucinda Stamps Bradford. he was born while the family was living in Texas and, like his father, was a doctor in Vicksburg. On March 28, 1898, he married Columba Flanagan (1873-1964); they had no children. Vicksburg, Miss., March 28. - Dr. Alexander Taylor Mitchell, who received his commission yesterday as assistant surgeon in the United States navy, was married at St. Paul's church at 3 o'clock this evening to Miss Columba Flanagan, daughter of Captain Matt Flanagan, of this city. Dr. Mitchell and bride left for Washington on this evening's train, he having received his orders to report for duty at once.
