Anna was born to Ben and Elna (Svensdotter) Johnson, who had emigrated to the United States from Sweden prior to 1885. She married George Earl Spaulding in 1910 and they had the following children: Lillian Leone, Cleo Belle, Benjamine Selah, Anna Lucille and Margery Jean. George and Anna lived in Hiawatha, Kansas until 1941 when they moved with their youngest daughter, Margery, to Montesano, WA, eventually moving to the Seattle area. A number of years later they returned to Hiawatha, Kansas where they both died.
