Father: General Andrew Moore - Virginia - Revolutionary War Officer
Mother: Sarah Reid Moore - Rockbridge County Virginia
Married to Emily Lamar Moore January 19, 1832 in Henry County GA.
Children of Andrew and Emily Moore:
Andrew Moore - 1832
Dr. John Lamar Moore - 1838/1912
Sarah "Sallie" Moore - 1839
Edward F. Moore - 1840/1882
Samuel D. Moore - 1848
Born in Virginia, there are numerous legal documents he prepared that exist from McDonough, Henry County GA and later Griffin, Pike County, GA where he practiced law. These numerous court documents were submitted during his representation of John Cash in obtaining his federal pension for his service in the Revolutionary War. Following John's death in 1836, Lawyer Andrew Moore worked tirelessly in finally obtaining a widow's pension for John's wife, Lucy Cash, that was granted in 1845. During this time Lawyer Moore appears to have relocated his family and living in Griffin, Ga. Following Lucy's death in 1848, Lawyer Moore continued to represent John and Lucy's older daughters, Miss Mary Cash, and Miss Nancy Cash, that were more than likely disabled.
Lawyer Andrew Moore is listed as a widower in the 1860 census with his children living with him. Unfortunately no additional information is available for him, but a special thanks goes out to Lawyer Andrew R. Moore for his tireless representation of my Cash Family members for over 20 years. John and Lucy Cash are the 3rd great-grandparents of Johnny Cash.
