On 7 May 1829, David E Moore, married Elizabeth Harvey, the daughter of Magdalin M Harvey, in Botetourt Co., VA. 1829 Botetourt Co., VA Marriage Register transcription, Familysearch.

On the 1850 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found lawyer DAVID E MOORE, 51; other Moores: Elizabeth, 41; Francis, 19; Andrew, 17; Elizabeth, 16; John H, 14; Sarah, 12; David 9; Edward, 7 and Virginia, 4, all Virginia born.

On the 1870 Lexington, Rockbridge, Virginia census, I found lawyer D E MOORE, 71; other Moores: Elizabeth M, 60; Lawyer John H, 30; School Teacher David E, Jr., 29; Fannie, 40; Sarah, 25 and Virginia, 20, all Virginia born.

David Evans Moore was born in about 1798 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, to parents Andrew and Sarah M Moore. He was a lawyer and the spouse of Elizabeth M Moore. On 30 Jan 1875, he died of Dropsay of Heart, aged 77 years, in Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA. His son D E Moore was the informant. DEATHS OF OLD VIRGINIANS.- Capt. D. E. Moore died in Lexington, Va., on the last day (sic) of the old year (sic), aged 77 years. He was a son of Gen. Andrew Moore, and had been practicing law in Rockbridge for over a half century. He was for 12 years captain of athe guard at the old arsenal, which afterwards became the present Virginia Military Institute...... His full obit was in the Staunton Vindicator (VA) dated 12 Feb 1875 (see photo).

Captain David E Moore, one of the oldest lawyers of Lexington, Virignia, died in that place last week. Published in the Weekly Register (Point Pleasant, WV) dated 18 Feb 1875.

Washington and Lee University - Action of the Board - Mr. W. W Corcoran Elected a Trustee. Lexington, Va., June 26, 1875. The Board of Trustees adjourned last Thursday evening, having been in session since Tuesday morning. Fourteen members of the body were present, the full board consisting of 19 members. The vacancy occasioned by the death of Captain David E. Moore was filled by the election of Mr. W. W Corcoran, of Washington city.... Published in the Daily Dispatch dated 29 Jun 1875 (see photo).
