She was born in Coal Springs, Sept. 3, 1908, a daughter of the late Charles and Hilma (Perrson) Hanson. She subsequently lived in Bison, Belle Fourche, and Spearfish.
Ardis graduated from Spearfish High School in 1927 and from Black Hills Teachers College, Spearfish. She taught in a one-room elementary school for a few years.
She moved to Pasco, Wash., in the 1940s and married John H. Klundt, who was a wheat farmer, June 19, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1988. She and John had a beautiful rose garden with many varieties of which they were pleased.
Following the death of her husband, she moved to Meadville to live with her daughter and son-in-law, LuAnne and Ralph Olson for the last 16 years.
She loved nature and enjoyed bird-watching. She was an accomplished artist in several mediums, but was best known for her beautiful china painting, having a certificate in the International Porcelain Art Teachers, Inc.
She was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 132, Pasco, life member of the Franklin County Historical Society, and the Archeological Society of Pasco, and of the Protestant faith.
Her favorite pastime was to crochet and made many afghans and other items. She also loved to travel.
She is survived by her daughter, LuAnne and Ralph W. Olson of Meadville; a sister, Carol Jane Johnson of Spearfish; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers and sisters, Pearl Hanson, Mardie Anderson, Lester Hanson, Clarence Hanson and Milford Hanson; two stepsons, Richard and Robert Klundt; and a stepdaughter, Marguerite Gunderson.
