This site was only used for 27 years; from 1680 to 1707.The name reflects the history of the town. The area was once the South Parish of Scituate. It is related in the Randall and Allied Families book that Many Randall's are buried in South Parish Cemetery, in that part of Scituate that is now Norwell.

William Randall the Immigrant William Randall came to Rhode Island as a prisoner aboard the ship 'Expectation' and on April 24, 1635 he landed in Providence, Rhode Island and therein took the oath of allegiance. In 1637 he removed to Marshfield, Massachusetts and in 1640 settled in Scituate, Massachusetts where he owned a farm on Dwelly's Creek. He was also listed as a cordwainer.
