JERRY Lee EICHMANN
Jerry L Eichmann(sic), 46, of 1118 South 24th St, Manitowoc, died Thursday evening at Holy Famiy Memorial Medical Center as the result of an industrial accident.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Bruce McKenney and the Rev. Glen Unke will officiate at the service.

Cremation will have taken place.

He was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Manitowoc, son of Bernetta Voss Eichmann and the late Lewis Eichmann.

He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1972. Jerry had been employed with Manitowoc Engineering for 25 years, and the past two years with Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry where he held the position of leader of maintenance.

In 1986 he started his own charter fishing business known as the Unpredictable Charter Service. Jerry was a member of the Charter Captains Association of Manitowoc County, a 12-year member of the Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fisherman, and a member of the board of directors for the same length of time. He also served as banquet chairman for 12 years for the Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fisherman, and received their special achievement award in 1995, and the Sport Fisherman of the Year Award in 1997. Jerry was also a member of the Valders Viking Gun Club, and was also very active with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Annual Beach Cleanup, the fin clipping/rearing pond for the Department of Natural
Resources, the Manitowoc Salmon Derby for over 20 years, and the annual Powder Puff Fishing Derby.

He is survived by his wife Corrine's two sons, Kirk and Nicholas Eichmann, both at home; his mother, Bernetta Eichmann, Manitowoc; mother-in-law, Helen Strzewski, Manitowoc; one brother, Jack Eichmann, Manitowoc; one sister, Joyce Swanson, Scottsdale, Arizona; one niece, Heather Meneau, Scottsdale, Arizona; three special friends, Jerry Blashka, Bruce Hansen, and Dick Korlesky; along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Eichmann.

Friends may call at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the Eichmann family with funeral arrangements.

Jerry was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his two sons Kirk and Nick, along with his friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his little dog "Shelby," his pet Schnauzer.

Married Corrine Strzyewski April 16, 1977 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The couple had 2 sons together, Kirk & Nick.

Became entrapped in a press at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Company in the accident Thursday night, causing crushing injuries to his head, chest & abodomen causing his death, said Manitowoc County Coroner Debra Kakatsch.

A Memorial plaque & paver stone were provided by the Great Lakes Fishing Society & placed in the Manitowoc County Zoo Fish Hatchery as memorials to his long time involement & contributions to this society.

His ashes were spread in Lake Michigan by his sons.
