Roland served in WWII and then worked at Simonson Lumber in St. Croix Falls until his retirement in 1982. In his retirement Roland enjoyed woodworking, caning chairs, and volunteering at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center.
Roland is preceded in death by brothers Alton Berg and Winton Berg, and… son-in-law Richard Gustafson. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Phyllis; children Carol Gustafson, Virginia (David) Johnson, & Richard (Ethel) Berg; 11 grandchildren: Craig (Karen) Gustafson, Christopher Gustafson, Carrie (Dale) Stiles, Stacy Johnson, Melissa (Michael Bradley) Johnson, Heidi (John) McAllister, Adam Johnson, Seneca (Kyrie Kroening) Berg, Erin (Zachariah) Clements, Kaitlan Berg, & Jordan Berg; 10 great grandchildren; and brother Leland (Ruth) Berg.
