He was a son of Colonel John Johns Trigg a politician, farmer, and Revolutionary War militia officer and Dianna Ayers both of Virginia. His uncle was Col. Stephen Trigg killed at the Battle of Blue Licks, Kentucky in 1782.
There are many Stephen Trigg`s with the exact same name within three generations that are all closely related to each other. Researchers beware!
This Stephen also served in the Virginia militia as a young man. He was first married in Virginia on 1/25/1789 and then came to Kentucky in 1794. Fought in the War of 1812 from Kentucky and later in 1818 moved to Howard County, Missouri.
He also served in the militia in Missouri and was referred to as "General" in that organization.
He had also eventually moved to Saline County, Missouri, outside Marshall.
His first wife was Elizabeth Mary Clark who died 5/04/1822. In 1825 he married Fannie Thurston Rector. Much more later!

Gravesite Details

His exact gravespot has been recently loss to time but it has been widely reported that he did die in Saline County, Missouri and is believed buried in one of the family cemeteries outside Marshall, Missouri.
