Nels Gottfred Wiberg Nov. 2, 1921 - Aug. 24, 2014 NEW CARLISLE - Nels Gottfred Wiberg, 92, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on August 24, 2014. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 2, 1921, to Esther (Ostling) & Gottfried Wiberg. Nels G. Wiberg graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago, IL, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He proudly served his country in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Army Air Force as an Aerial Engineer. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He was married to Faith Elaine (Yeager) Wiberg on December 23, 1971. His wife survives him. He is survived by many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nels G. Wiberg was a veteran of World War II, a lifetime member of the American Legion & the Masonic Temple. A celebration of Nels Wiberg's life will be held at the American Legion Post 297, New Carlisle, Indiana, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 2-4 pm.
